Reiki Treatment
What happens during a Reiki Treatment?
During a Reiki treatment, the client either lies or sits in a comfortable chair and the practitioner’s hands are placed on or just above the body. It is not necessary for the client to remove any clothing to receive the treatment, the only thing the client needs to do is relax and let go of their busy minds and release any tension in their body. This sense of relaxation is a healing state which is often likened to being in the womb.
The practitioner will reach a meditative state of mind which allows them to sense how the energy is flowing in the client’s body. The system of Reiki does not seek to manipulate this energy as the energy itself knows it true path and will flow to where it is needed most.
The Reiki Practitioner simply offers energy through their hands, to the client which they draw upon to help them clear any emotional / mental or physical obstructions which are interrupting their natural energetic flow.
Clients and practitioners may experience sensations in the body which indicate movement in this flow, such as cold or warm sensations, tingling or a slight vibration. These sensations can be seen as a by product of energy clearing in the body.
A Reiki session will usually last between 45 to 60 Minutes and will include a full consultation before any hands on treatment commences. During the consultation period, the client will be asked question regarding their general health, levels of physical activity and if there are any areas they would like to focus on during the treatment.
Once the treatment has finished, a brief discussion will allow both the client and the practitioner to ask questions and discuss further treatments / follow ups.
